Forest Management

The Northeast and Southeast Quadrants comprise almost 4,000 acres of managed timberland. The Northeast Quadrant is about 2,468 acres and the Southeast Quadrant is approximately 1,472 acres.

According to a 9/2014 timber evaluation by Callahan Timber Company, Inc. of Callahan, Florida, the standing timber in the Northeast Quadrant has a $1,844,338 value and the timber in the Southeast Quadrant has a $672,513 value. There are approximately 714 acres of “wetlands” in the Northeast Quadrant and approximately 449 acres of “wetlands” in the Southeast Quadrant.

In the Northeast Quadrant the valuation breakdown is +- $637,177 of Pulpwood value, +-$397,720 of Chip & Saw value, +-$760,023 of Premerchantable timber and +-$49,918 drainage and site prep value.

In the Southeast Quadrant the valuation breakdown is +-$153,478 of Pulpwood value, +-$62,127 of Chip & Saw value, +-$325,336 of Premerchantable timber and +-$131,571 drainage and site prep value.

Some of the timber land was harvested in the late 2000’s and replanted in row stands. All of the trail roads are improved and maintained with good accessibility throughout the Quadrants. County Road 305 and State Road 206 are adjacent to the Quadrants and provide immediate, local transport to the regional mills.
